Mathom House believes that family involvement in the therapy process is an integral part of treatment which fosters success and healthy living for
the resident. The goal is to collaborate with the family and resident in order to appropriately identify treatment goals and efficiently employ necessary interventions in order to prepare the
resident for the challenge of community reintegration. Therapists utilize traditional therapeutic techniques and provide psychosexual education in their work with families. The goal is to promote
acceptance and understanding of the harm that was caused by the resident not only to the victim and the community, but also to the family. |
Family Therapy
Trained family therapists are available to provide regular sessions to families of our residents. Therapy often focuses on the exploration of family roles and behavioral patterns that contribute to family
conflict. Therapeutic goals are tailored to the needs of the family. Day and evening sessions are available in order to best meet the needs of the family.
Family Group Decision Making (FGDM)
